AXTER RECYCLES 100% OF OUR BITUMEN WASTE INTO USEFUL PRODUCTS:
The industrial process of manufacturing waterproofing membranes inevitably generates waste (machine start-up, change of production type, etc.). Axter has found a solution at the Courchelettes factory to reduce the environmental impact of its waste (rolls unfit for use) by giving it a second life… on our roads.
After several stages of crushing into granules, it is sold to a production unit that manufactures asphalt for roads. It is then added in very precise proportions to road products as bituminous binders and polymers.
AXTER TAKES ACTION EVERY DAY:
- To meet the construction industry’s environmental requirements (HQE approach, low energy buildings, HPE and THPE labels, etc.).
- To address the environmental and health aspects of our products using Environmental Data Sheets (EDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), in order to meet the 14 targets of the HQE approach.
What about Coletanche?
COLETANCHE bituminous geomembrane is manufactured at the Courchelettes plant in France (Nord department). It is ISO 9001 and 140001 certified. In addition, more than 30 million m² of COLETANCHE geomembranes have been installed throughout the world to prevent pollution, contain industrial waste, build on sensitive sites, etc.
